How Vortex Powered Aeration™ (VPA) can support the soft drink industry’s triple bottom line.
Typically, 2-3 litres of water are required to produce a single litre of soft drink, with vast quantities of water required for cleaning, ingredient processing, cooling, and other operational needs. This results in large volumes of wastewater needing treatment.
Aeration typically accounts for 60% of a wastewater treatment plant’s power consumption. The inefficiencies of conventional aeration methods make it challenging to comply with environmental regulations and meet corporate sustainability goals.

INDUSTRIAL BEVERAGE MBR
2 x VPA™ systems were retrofitted to 2 membrane bioreactors (MBRs) treating industrial waste from carbonated beverage production. The purpose of the upgrade was to reduce energy intensity (which resulted from existing diffuser fouling issues) and eliminate costly and unsafe tank draining processes for maintenance.
